SYSID 2003 -- INVITED SESSION PROPOSALS

Invited session proposals

Please note:
The deadline for paper submissions is over!

The program committee encourages the submission of invited sessions with sets of six invited papers on a well-defined subject of current interest. An invited session should present a cohesive and comprehensive focus on a topic relevant to the scope of the symposium. An invited session may start with a tutorial presentation which can be alotted a double time slot. In this case five papers are sufficient to compose a session. Contributions in invited sessions proposals can be extended abstracts of at least 2000 words showing the principal contribution of the paper so as to allow for an informed peer review. People interested in organizing an invited session on software applications and/or software demonstrations are kindly requested to contact Reimar Schumann (member IPC) for details. An invited session will be accepted only if the session itself and its contributed papers are accepted. Accepted papers of a non-accepted invited session will be included in regular sessions.

How to submit

Coordinators or organizers of invited sessions should perform the following steps:

Step 1 Contact potential authors, and get a list of authors and paper titles.
Step 2 Write a session proposal, which describes the contents and coherence of the proposed session. The session should contain 6 paper contributions on one specific (or closely related) topic(s). The proposal should contain the following items
  1. Title of the session
  2. Name and full mailing address of session organizer
  3. Description of the topic of the session
  4. Description of coherence of the session
  5. Ordered list of the proposed session contributions, including titles, authors and a corresponding author of each paper contribution.
Step 3 Generate a PDF or a Postscript file of the proposal.
Step 4 Fill in the invited session proposal form.
On this form you will need to supply information on the contributors of the session. This form is also used to deliver the proposal. If properly processed, your submission will be acknowledged by email, providing you with a Invited Session Identification Number.
Step 5 Pass the Invited Session Identification Number to the corresponding author of each paper contribution in the session. Contributors of the session should provide this number when submitting their papers.

After submission

Please pass the Invited Session Identification Number to the authors of the session. The Invited Session Identification Number can be used for any further inquiries and correspondence about your session. Receipt of the individual contributions of the session (the invited papers) will be automatically acknowledged by email to the session organizer. In this way, the session organizer can verify the timely delivery of the various session contributions. If you need to make changes to your submission, please contact the IPC secretariat by email.
